With technological advancements becoming more prevalent in everyday life, it is becoming absolutely necessary to integrate technology into teaching. As future Special Education Teachers, we will be working with students who require technology in order to interact in the classroom, while also working with students whose education can be furthered with the use of technological devices. Over the course of this semester, we have learned about many different forms of technology and how we can use them in our future, both as students and also as educators. As a group, we discussed how important technology will be in our special education classrooms, and also how we would be using technology in the teaching of general education students. We all agreed on the necessity of technology, however we disagreed on our views of the most useful piece of technology we learned about over the semester. We decided to use an interview type video to discuss each of our opinions of the most valuable piece of technology, ranging from wikis, to podcasts, to different assistive technologies. Overall, each different type of technology will prove very helpful in our future as educators.
